Lace Hats

While on vacation, we spent a few days in New York with our family. This is a picture of the darling granddaughters Samantha (from Miami) and Megan (from Ithaca). Samantha was looking in my knitting bag and found my stash of beach beannies that I was planning to take to Grenada on the sailing trip. They each decided on a color and immediately put them on. It's so nice when someone appreciates your knitting!!

Tree House!

I'm back from my trip to the Adirondacks. As we were driving I happened to see this house. The first thing that came to mind was, Do these people ever clean??? This sure does give new meaning to the words "tree house!!"

Six Stitch Sock

I'm working on Charlene's Slipped- Stitch Rib Sock. It's in Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Larkspur. I love this yarn and plan on purchasing it again but the next pair will not be so dark. I like color!! It feels so soft too. I'm starting to get hooked on sock knitting but I can understand why some knitters complain of the second sock syndrome!!

Precious Book

I received another knitting birthday gift yesterday. It was from a knitting friend, Martha. This is a beautiful precious book. It is so much fun to look through. There are many old pictures of people knitting. The articles are great. This book will give me many hours of pleasure! Thanks Martha!!

Birthday Gifts!

Today is my birthday! When I came downstairs this morning to get some coffee, Mr. McGuyver left some gifts for me before he went to work. I'm very excited to get the sweater wizard. Since I have to adjust patterns this will be a big help. My niece sent me a gift certificate from Patternworks. It came with their spring update catalog. I spent some time at the lake this weekend looking through it thinking of what I'll get. I will spend it wisely!

Sam's Scarf!

I'm just finishing up Samantha's scarf. I just have to finish the border and put on the fringe. This will be a surprise for her. In January, I made her brother a cable scarf that he wanted to take to a skating party. He sent me a picture of himself wearing the scarf. He looked very cute!

I promised that I would knit at least two scarfs before December and I have to keep on track. I usually have more knitting time in the summer since we spend a lot of time at the lake. Well, Memorial weekend is coming -- the official start of summer!

Dermatologist Approved!

I was knitting this hat at the Dermatologist's office the other day. My doctor came in and looked at it and said "That hat is dermatologist approved!!" This was a free pattern given by Bobbie at the Knittapalooza retreat in March. I have made three so far. They will make great little gifts.

A Little Piece of Happiness!

This beautiful stitch marker was given to me by Liz, a knitting friend at the Thursday night group. She made it from sterling silver and a bead that looks just like rose quartz. I love pretty things. Whenever I use it I will think of her!
