A friend at work, Phillip, recently took a trip to Argentina to visit his brother. (Take a look at his website. He has some great pictures of this trip.) When he returned, he gifted me with three lucious, yummy skeins of burgandy yarn. I want to make something special with this yarn -- maybe some beaded handwarmers!

Mr. MacGyver (husband -- you'll figure out why I call him that in future posts) and I went to Charlotte this weekend to the Log and Timberframe Home Show. The picture is of a hugh log home frame. (Check out the deer antler lamps on the table!) We are in search of the perfect (one that doesn't exist) floorplan for our timberframe lakehouse. After checking all the home plans out, we continued up to the Discovery Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. Unfortunately, since it's only been out for one week, all the tickets were sold out. We settled for the IMAX movie about a trip down the Nile River. It was excellent but not a trip I have on my travel schedule any time soon!

Today, while at work, I was really here -- at the lake! I have been sitting at my computer thinking of how peaceful it is there. Only a few more weeks and our boat will be back in the water and we will be ready for summer. I have missed our lake friends. It will be nice to see them again, see how the kids have grown over the winter and to sit in the sun down on the deck of the boathouse.
